My go-to recipe for a refreshing and energizing glowing green smoothie. I’ve been drinking this smoothie three-four times a week for the past year, and I can honestly say it’s been a game changer for my overall health, gut health, skin glowing and wellbeing. This smoothie has just as many veggies as a huge salad…without having to eat a salad for breakfast because, ew. It’s a delicious and easy way to get your daily dose of greens. Packed with nutrient-rich ingredients like spinach and kale, sweetened with banana, apple and pear, but will keep your blood sugar balanced and feeling energized all morning from the protein in hemp seeds + collagen protein.
I dare you to take the challenge and drink this glowing green smoothie every day for one week.
I promise you’ll notice a difference in your energy levels, skin, and overall glow.
Every serving has 25-30g protein.
20g from 2 scoops of collagen powder (I use @vitalprotein or @organika – both grass fed).
2 Tablespoons hemp seeds = 6 grams
1 tablespoon almond butter = 4g

1 handful of romaine
1/4 cucumber
1 celery stalk
1 apple, cored
1 pear, cored
1 banana, peeled
Juice of half a lemon
4 scoops of collagen protein (enough to get 20g protein each. 1 scoop is typically 10g, depending on the brand).
1/4 cup hemp seeds
1/2 – 1 inch chunk of fresh ginger, peeled
2 cups ice
2 cups water + 2 tablespoons of almond butter OR 2 cups of unsweetened almond milk.
Directions
- Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and blend on high until creamy and smooth, scraping down sides as needed.
Enjoy immediately.
**If vegan, omit collagen and double the hemp seeds or use your plant protein powder of choice. This will change the flavour.
Notes
- EDIT: It’s come to my attention from this community that the name “glowing green smoothie” Was coined by Kimberly Snider. And that the recipe bases are similar. Any likeness of recipes is purely coincidental as I would never intentionally take someone’s work. I was not personally familiar with Kimberly’s popular smoothie before this. Her smoothie has parsley and cilantro where my recipe I’ve been drinking for 2 years has cucumber, collagen, ice and almond butter. Making them different recipes. I have a deep respect for her work, and others in my community. I will refer to this smoothie as my Go To Green Smoothie from now on. Thanks for letting me know 💚
As this is for two servings, should I half recipe as it’s just for myself or can I keep second serving overnight in fridge for next day. Thank you!
both are great options!
